Summer Hoops League 2018 - Registration Now Open!

WHO: Boys Grades 4th - 11th (grade completed for 2017-2018 school year)

Individual players and full teams

WHEN:  June 17 - August 12th

COST: $65 - each player must register and pay individually online.

DEADLINE: May 27, 2018 -- Space is limited.  If maximum numbers are reached prior to May 27th, registration will close early.

Spring 2018 Basketball Clinics

ANNOUNCEMENT: As of 11:45am on April 8th - the 5:00pm 1st-3rd Grade session is CLOSED.  Any registrations received online for 1st-3rd graders after 11:45am on 4/8 will be placed in the 3:45-5:00pm Sunday session. 

 

1st – 3rd Graders (boys & girls): Sundays* 5:00 – 6:15pm  CLOSED  (7 weeks) – April 8 through May 20

*Note: Sunday, May 13 is re-scheduled to Tues, May 15 6:00pm - 7:15pm due to Mother's Day

2nd Session for 1st-3rd Graders (boys & girls): Sundays* 3:45pm - 5:00pm (7 weeks) - April 8 through May 20

*Note: Sunday, May 13 is re-scheduled to date/time TBD due to Mother's Day

 

4th – 8th Grade Girls: Sundays 6:15-7:30pm (7 weeks) – April 8 through May 20

*Note: Sunday, May 13 is re-scheduled to Tues, May 15 7:15-8:30pm due to Mother's Day

 

4th -5th Grade Boys: Mondays 6:00-7:15pm (7 weeks) – April 9 through May 21

2018 Brandywine Valley Craft Brewers' Festival Hosted By Iron Hill

Join Iron Hill for their 18th annual Brandywine Valley Craft Brewers’ Festival at Iron Hill Media on Saturday, May 19th from 1-5pm. Enjoy food, games, music, and craft beer from over 20 local breweries.

 

The festival continues to grow into the premier showcase of handcrafted products from the region's craft breweries. Proceeds will benefit the Media Youth Center.

Spring MyFi Session Registration Is Open

MyFi (Media Youth Film Initiative)

In collaboration with the Media Arts Council

High School students will write, act in, direct and produce their own short films.

 

Cost: $175, 10 weeks

Location: Media Youth Center, 1 Youth Way, Media
Wednesdays: 6-8pm
February 21st – May 2nd
*no class Wed. March 28th

During the 10 week course, students are under the guidance of professional instructor Hezekiah Lewis, award- winning filmmaker and Assistant Professor of Communications at Villanova University, and Darryl Ridgeway, a filmmaker and mentor.

Robotics Program Receives DoDSTEM Grant!

We are proud to announce that the Robotics program has received a Department of Defense STEM Grant for the 2017-2018 season.  The grant assists with FIRST LEGO League team registration and materials fees.  What a great way to start the season!  To learn more about our robotics program, please visit our Robotics webpage.

The Media Youth Center (MYC), located in Media, Pennsylvania provides a safe environment for youth to expand their minds, grow their bodies and have fun. We offer a wide array of recreational and educational programs for youth in addition to partnership opportunities with the community.
 
We are located at 1 Youth Way, near the intersections of 6th and Monroe Streets, and we hope to see you here at the MYC soon!

The vision of the Media Youth Center is to provide a wide array of constructive programs for our youth to explore and enjoy with their family, friends, and neighbors, in a safe environment.

The Media Youth Center develops in our children a healthy respect for, and service to, their community, their self-esteem, and their sense of fair play, by providing recreational programs and other learning opportunities using the people and collective resources of the extended Media community.
