Our many sincere thanks to all of you who made the 56th Annual Thunderbird Dinner a wonderful evening again this year!

With over 120 people in attendance, the Media Youth Center proudly celebrated the people of Media who have been so supportive over the last 56 years with the Thunderbird Dinner, started and conducted by the Gross Family headed by Bill and Lorraine for so many years. Though this is the first year Bill was not in attendance, he is fondly remembered by all. In watching down over Lorraine, he almost shepherded her to a Grand Prize win finishing fourth out of the 100 in the drawing. There were lots of laughs, cash and prizes won, auctioned items generously donated by many, and hugs and memories for long-time friends. In addition to the merriment, we also raised some much-appreciated funds for the Youth Center. We look forward to seeing you all again next year, and bring a friend too!
The popular Thunderbird Dinner founded by Bill and Lorraine Gross in 1958 to raise money for the Media Boys Club was so successful it has remained a line item in the budget ever since its inception.
Originally, John Walsh of Walsh Ford made a donation of a Thunderbird car available for the grand prize and the “Thunderbird” Dinner was born. Now each year 100 select supporters gather for an evening of food, fun, and friendship, with the opportunity of walking away with the grand prize of $3,000. A silent auction and scholarship offering are also a part of the evening festivities.
If you are interested in becoming a ball holder please purchase one in the website store before they are all gone! For additional information, please contact the Media Youth Center.
